At our meeting, I would like to try to focus on three things:
Developing mentor/encouragement cohort relationships between larger church pastors and your bivocational pastors.
Offer local training opportunities for the bivocational pastors (i.e. sermon preparation, how to do a funeral under different circumstances, basic church administration, pastoral care, and time management.)
Plan regional retreats and nights of encouragement for bivocational pastors.
You may have additional ideas. Also, I want to take into account your context and the needs of your pastors.
Director of Missions, please invite pastors and other leaders from your Associations that you think might be interested in being a part of this effort. I'm planning for the meeting to last approximately 2 hours.
